FP lets Make It Real

Dear fellow RHAN members,

Last May 28, UNFPA, Dr. Coroza and Likhaan had a meeting re: UNFPA FP
commodities assistance in Manila. Dr. Criselda 'Ada' M. Vergel de
Dios-Coroza, Chief Officer, Family Planning Services of the Manila
Health Department is now the one in charge of the FP Program in the
city.

Dr. Ada would like to meet the RHAN people, especially those with
organizations based in Manila or doing service provision and
community organizing work, to explore the possibility of working
together in both service provision and policy advocacy aspects of
restoring the FP program in Manila.

Dr. Ada has expressed her commitment to bring FP back in Manila but
according to her, she's not getting any support from Manila City Hall
people, even those from her department. She's eager to meet with FP-RH
advocates for their FP program.

There was a suggestion to hold a one-day FP fair in Manila (to provide
free FP services) on July 11 in time for the observance of the World
Population Day. Incidentally, this year's theme of WP Day is "FP Let's
Make It Real."

The meeting is on June 6, Friday, 1:30 p.m.- 5:00 pm at the Chicken Bacolod
Inasal, Quezon City Memorial Circle, Quezon City.
