Despite threats, pregnant women set to march to Congress to call immediate passage of the Reproductive Health Bill

Unfazed by the campaigns against the reproductive health bill, its advocates and supporters will march to show the strong and broad clamor for the immediate passage of House Bill 5043 or the “Reproductive Health and Population Development Act of 2009” and its Senate counterpart, SB 3122.

A group of pregnant women is set to lead thousand of representatives from various civil society and non-government organizations in a march to counter the massive campaign conducted by some leaders of the Catholic Church.

The group will assemble at the Sandigan Bayan, Commonwealth Ave., Batasan Road and will march to the South Entrance of the House of Representatives, Batasan Complex, Quezon City.

While marching, the group will tie purple ribbons on trees, gates, and other edifices to attract interest from the public.

Marchers will carry banners and placards urging lawmakers to vote for reproductive health bill.
