Dear friends,

Greetings once again from Manila! Hope all is well.

In our previous email, we have sent you the registration form for the upcoming 11th RCM and PGA events. Below please find the necessary preparations that each MFA member has to take note of before coming to Manila.

11th Regional Conference on Migration (RCM)

Kindly be reminded that all MFA members are required to submit a copy of their annual reports to the Secretariat. This was adopted by the members at the 4th General Forum held in September 2004 in Seoul, Korea. We would like to thank those who have continuously complied with this requirement.

We are requesting the member to please bring a copy of your annual report for 2007 to Manila. Those who have not submitted the 2006 report, kindly ensure that a copy of this will be given to the Secretariat. Kindly note that the report should be able to highlight programs and activities that your organization has implemented to move forward the network's over-all agenda.

For easy reference, kindly prepare the report according to the following areas of concern:
Advocacy and Capacity Building: should highlight programs on campaigns for migrant workers' rights, awareness-raising and capacity-building for migrant workers and their families, engagement with UN, international, regional and national processes, research and publications
Feminization of Migration: should highlight programs addressing issues faced by women migrant workers and related issues brought about by the feminization of migration
MSAI: should highlight programs promoting MSAI as a strategy for sustainable reintegration, accomplishments in organizing of migrant workers into savings groups in the host countries and establishing enterprises in the home countries
Health: should highlight programs focused on the five key areas on migration and health: general health and well being, reproductive health, psychosocial health, HIV/AIDS and mobility, and occupational health and safety
West Asia: should highlight programs addressing the issues faced by migrant workers in the West Asia region, linkages that you have made with migrant-oriented groups based in West Asia, and on-going collaborations with identified partners in the region.
Migrant Domestic Workers: should highlight programs specifically looking at the issues faced by migrant domestic workers
TU-NGO Collaboration: should highlight programs your organization has implemented in collaboration with trade unions aimed at protecting and promoting the labour rights of migrant workers
People's Global Action on Migration, Development and Human Rights

As you may be aware of, mobilizations during the PGA week will be organized to raise our concerns to the governments participating in the GFMD process. The mobilizations will be organized by migrants' organizations, global unions, women groups and development groups.

In line with this, the Philippine Working Group and the International Working Group has agreed to adopt a common slogan to be carried by participating organizations during the mobilizations. The slogan will be "MIGRANT WORKERS ARE HUMAN BEINGS, NOT COMMODITIES". To be able to create a huge impact that we are united in this call during the mobilizations, we would like to request the members to prepare a banner with this slogan and the PGA logo (see attached).

Banners should be printed in your own native language, with a uniform size of 2x1 meters and made of cloth. We are envisioning the PGA mobilizations to be as colorful and as creative as the mobilizations that we have during the WTO Ministerial Meeting in December 2005 in Hong Kong so please bring other banners and posters that you may have. Members are also encouraged to bring copies of your publications and other materials for distribution and/or for sale.

Should you have any clarifications on the above matters, please don't hesitate to inform the Secretariat.

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Courage, Peace and Power in a life full of meaning.
