PostSubject: DE LIMA ON THE ALLEGED CHARGES AGAINST CHR CHIEF FILEd   Thu Jul 16, 2009 5:27 pm

STATEMENT OF THE CHR CHAIRPERSON LEILA M. DE LIMA ON THE ALLEGED CHARGES AGAINST CHR CHIEF FILED BY A SUPPOSED DETAINEE IN PANABO:

I CATEGORICALLY DENY THE ACCUSATION. I DID NO SUCH THING. I DID NOT ORDER THE TAKING OUT FROM JAIL OF THE SUBJECT DETAINEE. NEITHER THE CHR NOR THE CHAIRPERSON HAS THE POWER TO DO THAT. THE CHR OR THE CHAIRPERSON CAN NEVER BE A PARTY TO ANY IRREGULARITY OR ILLEGALITY. THE MENTION OF MY NAME IN THE OFT REPEATED IMPUTATION OF POLITICAL MOTIVATIONS IN THE ONGOING DDS PROBE ARE BUT DIVERSIONARY AND PART OF THE BLACK PROPAGANDA BEING HURLED AGAINST CHR AS AN INSTITUTION AND SPECIFICALLY AGAINST THE CHR, IN LIGHT OF THE BREAKTHROUGHS RECENTLY ACHIEVED IN THE ONGOING PROBE. WE APPEAL TO CERTAIN SECTORS TO SPARE CHR FROM THESE BLACK PROPAGANDA AND POLITICAL MUDSLINGINGS.

OURS IS A VERY IMPORTANT INSTITUTION WITH A SENSITIVE AND CRUCIAL MANDATE UNDER THE CONSTITUTION.
