“Universal Access to RH by 2015 through Multisectoral Leadership”
Asian Institute of Management (AIM), Makati, M.M., April 9-11, 2008
to a very important meeting of various stakeholders who care about the role of leadership and leadership development in achieving universal access to reproductive health in the Philippines. The conference will take place from April 9-11, 2008 at the Asian Institute of Management, Paseo de Roxas, Makati City and requires a commitment of the full 2 and ½ days. Registration for the conference begins, April 9 at 7:30 a.m. The conference will end at 1:30 p.m. on April 11.
This exciting meeting will engage a methodology called Future Search. Future Search uses a rigorous, set process to help people understand their past, acknowledge their present, develop a common vision, and create action plans for the future. What makes Future Search powerful is that everyone who has a stake in the issue is represented. The results of Future Search conferences can be amazing. In meetings like these, people acknowledge and understand their differences, and then seek to discover common ground that all can support. The resulting common ground vision can become the basis for both immediate actions and long–term plans.
This Future Search will convene approximately 180 leaders between 3 sites, Makati, Dumaguete and Davao and will utilize technology to provide connectivity at various times during the event. For this we have tapped the Asian Institute of Management-World Bank Development Resource Center to assist us in moderating the video-conferencing that will allow updates and interaction in all 3 sites at various points of the conference. Future Searches have been done world-wide for many years, but 3 simultaneous conferences, all connected by technology is a FIRST.
The focus and theme of this conference will be:
“Universal Access to RH by 2015 through Multisectoral Leadership”
As the theme implies, together we will look at the future of leadership and leadership development in support of achieving universal access to RH. You have been selected because of specific strengths and insights you can bring to our conference focus. Together, we hope to achieve the following outcomes at the end of the conference:
• Leaders have identified their roles and specific commitments in advocating for RH at present and in the future;
• Leaders have reflected on the gains and barriers in promoting RH in the Philippines;
• Leaders have developed a roadmap with identified milestones and specific mechanisms for universal access for RH
