Better Benefits, New Premium Rates for OFW Members in 2012
As we aggressively more towards Universal Health Care (UHC), we will prioritized the introduction of a new set of enhanced benefits designed to improve financial risk protection for all members. Among these are primary care benefits that will entitle our members to basic, quality health care services through accredited public and private health care providers nationwide. This includes outpatient medicines such as anti-hypertensives, anti-diabetics and antibiotics, which are among the more common medicine needed by our members.
We will also expand the case rate for all diseases and procedures to further empower the members with the knowledge of how much Philhealth covers for each and every medical condition. We envision a situation where each and every Philhealth member is assigned to a primary care provider through which preventive and diagnostic services can be availed of at no cost the member.
Critical to sustaining the provision of these benefits is a significant investment in health care through an adjustment in the premium contribution rate for all paying member in 2012.
Members under the Overseas Workers Program (OWP) may avail themselves of an annual rate of P1,200.00 if they pay anytime between January 1 and June 30, 2012. At the same time,. members who sign a policy contract with us during the first semester of 2012 and commit to pay for two (2) consecutive years, may similarly enjoy the price off from the new annual premuim rate of P2,400.00 which takes effect on July 1, 2012.
This new development is in line with Philhealth Circular 022,s.2011 which was publish in the Philippine Star last December 16, 2011.
All OWP members may pay at the POEA or at any of our Service Offices and accredited collecting agencies and their tie-ups overseas. Further inquiries may be referred to our Call Center at (02) 441-7442.
